The marina itself is essentially a large wooden pier where the boats are moored.
On site, there is an excellent seafood restaurant, a small grocery store, and a hotel that allows departing guests to arrive the night before and stay on location.
This is the real, authentic Thailand.
Please note that you should plan your provisioning in advance, as there are no proper supermarkets in the area (only very small convenience stores). It is therefore important to organize your shopping ahead of time on the western side of Koh Chang. If you arrive without having provisioned in advance, you can coordinate a transfer with the charter company to take you shopping.
Salak Phet’s location is very convenient for heading south toward the island nature reserve, with a relatively short sailing distance.
Within the complex itself, there is a very good restaurant and a small grocery store for basic items in case you forgot something.
A small, hidden café is located about a 5-minute walk south, offering freshly baked croissants and excellent coffee.
